Portable Lines

The portable speaker line is one of the most popular in the portfolio. Worked on three product generations and over seven products, I was the UX lead that responsible for both designing new products and retroactively improving the user experience of existing ones.

A key challenge was balancing user needs with physical size constraints while maintaining a consistent design language. I analysed data from NPS survey and app usage to identify issues and opportunities, validated ideas through prototyping, and developed scalable interaction and interface design guidelines for the line up.

Interfaces across the family

Despite differences in panel sizes, the design elements, core interaction and feedback mechanisms remain consistent. In close collaboration with the Industrial designers and CMF designers, I focused on the design system in physical world, interface layout, interaction hierarchy, visual and acoustic feedback, text readability, and tactile elements to enhance accessibility.

Feature for sustainability β€” battery preservation

Researches and customers feedback showed that short battery life is one of the top reasons why consumers abandon electronic products over time. Working closely with Electronic Engineers, we introduced Battery Preservation for the first time to address this pain point.

There are three actions to make the battery last longer. Users can read what actions they can take, and choose with intention according to their needs. The circle not just visualizes the current chosen level, but also shows the impact that the user is making.
