Hej!
I’m Yuehan, an experienced designer based in Stockholm with 10 years of experience in Industrial Design, User Experience and Interaction Design. I create cross-platform experiences that bridge the digital and physical worlds. With the passion for people and experiences, I focus on real user needs — designing tangible, intuitive interfaces that foster meaningful interactions.
I’m passionate about prototyping across digital and physical touchpoints. You will find my experiments with various tools in creative coding in Playground. Outside my 9-5 work, I founded FIG - an inclusive improv community where I perform, coach, and bring together people who embrace the spirit of “Yes, and.”.
My Approaches
User first
Taking a research-led approach, combining qualitative insights with data to understand user needs and the wider service context. By blending UX and service design methods, I uncover patterns that guide design, reduce risk, and support cohesive, user-informed solutions.
Prototype & Test
Working closely with designers and engineers to turn complex technologies into intuitive, user-centered experiences. I translate design concepts into clear, actionable features and requirements — bridging gaps, aligning teams, and ensuring smooth handoff so ideas become feasible, meaningful, high-impact products.
xDisciplinary thinking
Making ideas into tangible experiences is at the heart of my UX practice. Prototyping allows for fast iterations and easier communication among team members, while testing validates initial assumptions and helps spot problems early on. This iterative process ensures the final products truly meet user needs.
After five years working in London and Copenhagen, I joined Marshall in 2020. My ambition has always been engaging people and technology to unlock a new level of interaction and experience that go beyond buttons and screens. While some project details are confidential, feel free to reach out to learn more about how I work and my other works.
Stack Mode: connect all your speakers
From concept to launch, I led the design of Stack Mode — Marshall’s first feature enabling users to connect multiple Bluetooth speakers across different models. Worked side by side with developers, engineers and Industrial designers, I managed to make this technically complex experience feel simple and intuitive, whether users activated it via physical buttons or through the app.

Launch LE-Audio ready products
Marshall has always been at the forefront of integrating emerging technologies into products — most recently with Bluetooth’s Auracast, which delivers high-quality audio and unlocks new possibilities for shared listening.
Building on the foundation of Stack Mode, I collaborated with software engineers and product owners to shape a holistic user experience that spans the entire ecosystem, from consumer to B2B and home audio. The work began in 2021 and continues to unfold, as we explore and adapt to the fast-evolving future-proof technology along the way. Stay tuned.

Portable Lines
The portable speaker line is one of the most popular in the portfolio. I was responsible for both designing new products and retroactively improving the user experience of existing ones.
A key challenge was balancing user needs with physical size constraints while maintaining a consistent design language. Another focus was enhancing the UI/UX of earlier-generation products during hardware updates. I mapped scenarios, assessed design impact, and aligned with stakeholders to ensure business goals were met.

TWS headphones
I worked on Minor III and Z.N.E.01, two TWS headphones for Marshall and Adidas, which were built on the same platform but designed for entirely different user groups and needs.
Starting with journey maps, I led both qualitative and quantitative research to support iterative design, and provided recommendations from UX perspective on software features and product affordances. As the first TWS product with app integration, I helped ensure it fit seamlessly into the broader app ecosystem. Conducting user testing during COVID was a major challenge, pushing us to get creative with tools and methodologies.

Mårten:
the bike for Students in Lund
Mårten is part of the Lund Bike Workshop, which was an experiment to prove the old saying, talk is cheap, and a hand brazed steel frame is solid gold. We were set out to express the “bike life in Lund” and designed bikes that represent a way of moving around in the Lund-Malmö region.
The outcomes of this project include a hand-made bike, a website, and brand design for this bike.
In collaboration with IDEO Germany.

Horizon:
EV community on the move
How would it feel and look like when driving an EV in 10 years?
In looking at a visionary group of users — car customisers in China, we found that they connect, communicate and socialize in a unique way: car clubs. These clubs are in fact representatives of a need we all share, a need for connection and interaction with those who understand us. We introduce an interactive dashboard that intensifies this exact feeling of belonging. It facilitates communication and sharing with one specific, or multiple, persons, at the same time. It brings the people in your life, closer to you, even when you are alone in your car.
In collaboration with Volkswagen and Etrans DK.
